Incredible
I like this place. The rent is really cheap and the units are nicely renovated. New stove and new fridge and freshly painted. One of the best deals in the city. This place also helps lower income individuals so a certain percentage is rent geared to income. Small pets are accepted and a serious strict no smoking policy. The policy is enforced.

Official 100% Smoking Building and Pet Friendly
224 Colony Street, Winnipeg Manitoba R3C-3X9, Keystone Seniors aka Keystone Manor aka Keystone Senior Citizens Housing. Fantastic Place. Completely renovated with new appliances. The Works. Pet Friendly, too. The place is full of dogs. Just tell them your pet is a service animal and you could even avoid paying the security deposit. Manitoba Human rights commission can give you a few hints if you just ask the RIGGGHT question. IN ADDITION, you can smoke all the cigarettes and weed you want. They put on a big show about having a no-smoking policy but it is absolutely unenforceable. The sometimes surly rude caretaker will try to intimidate and shout at you, but they can not evict you. The Manitoba Residential Tenancies Branch won't enforce it because it is not the law. Besides the caretaker couple smokes too. So smoke all you want in your apartment or anywhere out on the GROUNDS. ENJOY!! If the caretaker bothers you, complain to the Manitoba Human Rights Commission and the Manitoba Residential Tenancies Branch.

Former Tenant
When I lived here Bridges Prop Mgmt ran the building. It has social housing for 25% of the suites and the rest are market rent. The building and common areas are not well maintained and for the most part are dirty most of the time. Getting anything fixed takes forever. The compressor on my fridge broke and it took them a week to get it fixed. Not acceptable under any circumstances. The building is in a bad neighborhood. There are many rooming houses, crack houses and other social problems in the area. It is not safe to sit outside after 6pm in the summertime because of the rift raft that congregate outside the building on the street

Not a safe place for seniors
Not a good place for seniors. Has had bed bugs for last six years. Poor security and dangerous area. People sneak in all the time. Bad elevater breaks a lot and people get stuck. Scary. Repairs take a long time .

Former Frustrated Tenant
Not a place a senior should be forced to live. Granted, you get what you pay for but this place was poorly run and dangerous. Gang area with graffiti on walls. Bedbugs on all floors. Elevator which broke down regularly. Repairs for appliances would take weeks. Nepotism in the Brydges Property Management company led to accounting errors which took a long time to correct. Better to get on the waiting for the Lions complex on Portage which is smaller and more expensive but none of the above problems.
