Description
The Family Support Centre is operated by the North Shore Schizophrenia Society. We offer personal support and education to families of the seriously mentally ill; information on major mental illnesses to the community at large; and advocacy on behalf of the seriously mentally ill and their families. Our programs include one-to-one peer counselling, support groups, the 12-session Family to Family education program, the Partnership Program (in schools), Public Education Meetings at Lions Gate Hospital, participation in public awareness events, and recreational/social activities with psychiatric patients.
