In addition to checking for changes in your vision and updating your prescription, we will also look at your overall eye health, internally and externally. Dr. Nicole Sehn graduated with honours from the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo in 2017. Prior to this, she received an honorary degree in Biomedical Health Science from the University of Calgary in 2013. During her clinical training, she thoroughly enjoyed completing her Ocular Disease and Therapeutics externship at the Scarborough Eye Associates in Scarborough, Toronto. While there, Dr. Sehn diagnosed and co-managed diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal tears and more, with individualized mentorship from a retinal ophthalmologist. Dr. Sehn also had the opportunity to volunteer in an eyecare mission trip to Lima, Peru where she provided vision care services and glasses to patients with limited access to eyecare; this experience is one of her highlights as a student, and hopes to do more going forward.
