Dr. Sandra Gillis-Kennedy is an Optometrist at Shelburne Primary EyeCare. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Waterloo and then received her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. Sandra has an interest in Type I and Type II diabetes. She has completed courses at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to further educate her patients about diabetes and overall wellness to preserve their gift of sight. She received her certificate in Advanced Ocular Disease & Therapeutics at Northern State University. Sandra is both an authorizer and vendor for the Assistive Device Plan (ADP) to assist patients who require low vision aids. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.[ In her spare time, Dr Gillis-Kennedy enjoys downhill skiing, scuba diving and mountain biking with her husband and three children. "I love working with kids! I have a holistic approach to eye wellness and with vision therapy I work from the bottom of the feet to the top of the head to allow kids to reach their potential, academically, athletically, and socially."
Dr. Colette Whiting graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1986. There she received the Gold Medal from the College of Optometrists of Ontario. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario and Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dr. Whiting is committed to keeping up with the latest developments in eye care and regularly upgrades her skills as an eye care professional through continuing education. She is currently certified in Advanced Ocular Disease and Therapeutics. Dr. Whiting strives to improve the quality of life of her patients by offering quality care, products, and services. She is well regarded in the community as a trusted caregiver and advisor. In her spare time, Dr. Whiting’s tireless involvement in community services has made her a familiar face in Shelburne. She has been an active member of the Shelburne Rotary Club and the Shelburne Horticultural Society for 25 years.
