  Dr. Radhika Chawla OD

  Dr. Chawla began her extensive career by earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree at McMaster University and then graduating from the State University of New York College of Optometry. Here she was awarded the College of Optometrists in Vision Development’s Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy. While in school, she focused on learning about the many aspects of optometry, with a particular focus on infant evaluations, contact lens exams and fittings, eye disease diagnosis and management, optic nerve disorders, and neurological conditions with ophthalmic complications. Following graduation, Dr. Chawla worked in New York at Beth Israel Medical Center in the Department of Ophthalmology. Some of her work there included infant and pediatric vision care, contact lens services, pre and post strabismus surgery care, cataract co-management, and glaucoma co-management. While working in New York, she served as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners. Currently, Dr. Chawla is a Board Director and Chair of the Children’s Vision Committee for the Ontario Association of Optometrists and has served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Optometrists for many years. She also volunteers with ORBIS, an organization dedicated to blindness prevention in developing countries. Her volunteer work has brought her to Vietnam, Nepal, and South Africa. Dr. Chawla served as the Vice President for the OAO (Ontario Association of Optometrists).

  Dr. Teresa Ching OD

  Dr. Ching was born and raised in Markham, Ontario. She completed her undergraduate studies at Western University where she obtained her Bachelor of Medical Science (BMSc) with honors and distinction. She then attended The University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science and graduated with honours. She is licensed to fit contact lenses including ortho-keratology lenses (Ortho-K), prescribe therapeutics, diagnose and manage ocular diseases. Her interests include pediatric care, myopia control and dry eye management. While in school, Dr. Ching received a grant to provide eye care to students at a local First Nation school on Manitoulin Island. She served as an executive member with the Canadian Association of Optometry Students where her team attained second place in the Optometry Giving Sight’s World Sight Day Fundraiser challenge. As well, she helped launch two educational videos on their YouTube channel. You can explore these videos through their channel, CAOS. Today, she is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists. During her free time, she enjoys baking, sketching and hiking with family and friends. Dr. Ching is able to speak to Cantonese and is accepting patients of all ages.
