  • Dr. Kyle Ryley

Doctor Of Traditional Chinese Medicine | Registered Acupuncturist

I am a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and registered acupuncturist with a background in sport, athletics and movement. My scope and passion expands to treat not only athletes but clients from all walks of life, for all sorts of pains and ailments through educating and enhancing their connection with their physicality. In the words of Nike founder Bill Bowerman, “if you have a body, you’re an athlete”! I began my journey into movement and performance health with an obsession in the two disciplines of gymnastics and martial arts. I competed to a senior national level in men’s artistic gymnastics traveling nationally and internationally until the age of 23. I cross-trained, adding an additional 8 hours/week in traditional Chinese martial arts, beginning at age 11, with a focus in the internal arts: taijiquan, qigong, baguazhang. With Jackie Chan, Goku, and the Red Power Ranger as my heroes as a young boy, I was motivated to achieve their level of excellence. This aspiration not only meant learning acrobatics and how to deliver a jump kick to the face, but also to embody their attitude, integrity, and values. It was this pursuit towards heroism that established positive habits which ultimately carried me forward in sport and my everyday life. This background gave me the perfect setting to hone my skills and relationship with health through movement, working alongside a wide array of health professionals, ranging from kinesiologists and strength & conditioning coaches, to physiotherapists and doctors of TCM. Working with athletically driven clients, I've cultivated a unique approach that establishes big goals and identifies the hero-figure that will be the catalyst in unlocking the "new and better you!" Conditions I Treat Best: Orthopaedic / Musculoskeletal: Miscellaneous joint pain: acute sprains and strains, persisting conditions due to old traumas, shoulder and hip impingement syndrome, arthritis, chronic muscle tension, cramps & spasms, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, frozen shoulder, bursitis, carpal tunnel, sciatica, plantar fasciitis. Other: post-concussion syndrome, headaches & migraines, nausea, heartburn & acid reflux ,indigestion, difficulty sleeping, anxiety, infertility, menopausal symptoms.
