If I could give zero stars, I would!

Absolutely the worst place to take anything automotive. I bought my boat privately and took it to them to do a full inspection and tuneup. The boat owner agree to pay for the inspection and tuneup to see what was wrong with it. They kept "finding" things wrong with the boat and the price kept going up and up. The had to order a carb kit for it which took forever to get there. Then when it got there, it was the wrong one. They said they had their best people working on it. I'd hate to see their worst people then. Finally after hearing the bill was going to be over $4000, I said forget it and stopped work immediately. They told me I have to replace the ICM module still or the boat wouldn't work properly. I told them I didn't care and I wanted the boat out of there. They would never call with any updates. We had to call them. They always had a excuse that sounded fishy as to why the boat wasn't done. It took them over a month to give the boat back to us and it still wasn't in working order. I grabbed the boat and took it over to Gilligan's. They had it for one day and told me that I didn't need a new ICM module. The carb wasn't adjusted right. They also did a quick inspection and found that the starter was an automotive starter. This is something they said that Dandys should have noticed. Gilligan's told me that it's actually illegal to have a automotive starter in a boat as it can cause major issues. I personally think they wrecked the starter and tried to replace it with something they had in the shop. I would highly recommend not taking anything to Dandy's. The service was horrible and the work was shady. I am so mad that I let it go that long. I should've taken it back after a week. Oh Yeah. And I emailed the owner and got no response back. Brutal service!! They have a Mission Statement on their website that states "To be the leader in the marketing of premium automotive and marine products and services by ensuring customer satisfaction with the total ownership experience, while recognizing that our employees are our greatest asset." I gave that back to the owner and still haven't heard anything back from them. I pray that no one else goes through what I went through.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

My daughter was en route from Calgary to Saskatchewan recently on a Friday evening when her car quit. Her auto insurance would only tow to the closest repair shop which, unfortunately, was Dandy Auto Marine Rv Ltd in Airdrie. At the request of the repair shop she sent a detailed message describing exactly what had happened leading up to the vehicle stalling including sequence of dash lights coming on etc. They said this was so they could save time during the diagnostic process. On Monday she was called and told the problem had been rectified and was only an alternator fuse which had needed replacing. She arrived to find a $300 bill for parts and labour including a $40.00 charge for recharging the battery. She had no choice but to pay the bill in order to get her car back. ......................
